The week 1 standings for the Tournament Realms were released, and there is a noticeable difference in class makeup

The week 1 standings were released for the Tournament Realms for both the US and Europe, and there is a big difference on the top 10 class makeups between the two. At the recent EM Global Finals, there was a lot of conversation on this topic as well, with the US teams going with the new “Flavor of the Month” lineups with DK/Paladin/Hunter or what not, while the Europe and Korean teams dominated with Rogue/Mage/Priest.

Top 10 TR Classes Used

As you can see, the choice of classes between the two can be seen and is pretty obvious. The lineup of choice for the US seemed to be Death Knight/Paladin/Warlock while for Europe it was Death Knight/Paladin/Hunter. However, Europe also had three teams in the top 10 who run Rogue/Mage/Priest, while there are no teams in the US top 10 who run RMP. There are zero Druid or Warriors currently competing at high end, which I am sure is not a surprise to anyone. Compared to the recent EM Global Finals though, we do see the Paladin/DK combination very strong among the top teams, and this could have a lot to do with LAN tournament play varies a lot from online tournament play. Rogue/Mage/Priest however still proves to be strong online as Europe proves.

The big controversy about these current class makeups however, is the fact that once the four qualifying weeks have wrapped up, patch 3.1 will more than likely have been released. And with patch 3.1, there are many class changes that could effect the style of these teams heading into the World Finals. Whether blizzard will decide to keep the current patch until the finish of the tournament, or tell the players to deal with it is yet to be known. But that is what the community has to deal with, WoW is an always changing game and its about adapting to the changes.
